Science Classes are grouped into four discipline areas:
Biological Sciences
Chemical Sciences
Physical Sciences
Earth Sciences
For the Standard Diploma, students need to complete 3 credits in Science from two different discipline areas. **
For the Advanced Studies Diploma, students need to complete 4 credits in Science from the three different discipline areas. (The most rigorous plan is Biology, Chemistry and Physics.) **

For both the Standard and Advanced Studies diploma, students are required to earn a ONE credit in a Fine Arts or CTE course. This list reflects courses taught throughout Fairfax County Public Schools, many of which are available to Madison High School students.
