Recent Grants

Madison Music & Arts awards grants to teachers for things that:
  • Enrich existing curriculum or instruction, including extracurricular programs;
  • Expand educational experiences of students;
  • Incorporate innovative teaching or learning methods; and/or
  • Provide support for teachers to enhance their teaching.

On average, MMA awards approximately $15,000-$20,000 each year in grants across all areas of the visual and performing arts, K-12.
MMA is able to award this grants through a combination of fundraising activities including:
  • Donations from parents and community members
  • Dessert & Jazz 
  • Kiss the Cast and Concessions sales at theatre performances
  • Merchandise sales
  • Other activities

Recent grants include:
  • With MEF, purchase of vibraphones for MHS music program.
  • $18,000 towards the MHS music trip to Disney
  • $2,500 towards the MJS music trip to Wicked
  • Pay for clinicians for district-wide chorus and band concerts;
  • The purchase of glockenspiels to ensure all students have 1:1 access to an instrument in general music education classes K-12
  • The purchase of drum buckets to enhance elementary rhythm instruction
  • Video camera for MJS music programs
  • Individual art and music kits for elementary and high school students during pandemic instruction
  • Software to assist with virtual music instruction during the pandemic
  • Support for the MJS & MHS music trips, including Disney
  • Wireless microphones for MJS & MHS theatre programs
  • Posture chairs district-wide for all music programs
