Dr. Lynne Bowker holds a PhD in Language Engineering (U. of Manchester) and is full professor at the University of Ottawa’s School of Translation & Interpretation with a cross appointment to the School of Information Studies. She is the author of Computer-Aided Translation Technology and co-author of both Working with Specialized Language: A Practical Guide to Using Corpora and Machine Translation & Global Research: Towards improved machine translation literacy in the scholarly community. In 2019, she was the researcher-in-residence at Concordia University Library, and in 2020, she was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in recognition of her work in translation technologies.
