Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
Applicants must hold at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited university in all subjects (preferably in the social sciences) and good command of basic mathematics. For international degree holders, the degree must be on the Office of Civil Service Commission’s approved list.
Applicants who have just finished or are about to finish their bachelor’s degree need to check their 'official' graduation date and make sure that it falls before the first date of the academic year they are coming into.
Applicants with little or no undergraduate background in economics and statistics are required to take pre-session courses in basic economics and statistics before the first semester commences. Exemptions may be granted upon providing satisfactory evidence of proficiency in these areas.
Applicants who would like to study in Plan B (Individual Study) must have work experience, or permission from the Admission Selection Committee. Plan A (thesis) students are not required to have work experience.
All applicants must be approved by the Admission Selection Committee on an individual basis.
English Language Requirements
For applicants whose first language is not English or not graduated from an English-medium programme*, A English Proficiency test is required. English language proficiency test scores must be taken within two years prior to the announcement of eligible applicants. The minimum English Language proficiency level for applying MAAE are as followed

To apply for the MAAE programme, you must apply online. We do not accept applications any other way. Please review the Entry Requirements for this programme before you begin your application.

To make the payment, please follow these steps:
Visit the payment website: http://ofas.chula.ac.th/Service
Select “Faculty of Economics.”
Choose "MAAE Application Fee AY 2025."
Click on the "Pay" button.
On the payment page, follow the instructions to complete the payment.
Step 1: The screen will display the application fee details for the Academic Year 2025, labeled "MAAE Application Fee AY 2025," with a payment amount of 800 Baht. Click the "Next" button to proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Enter the payer's information and receipt details (available in both Thai and English).
Step 3: Choose your preferred payment method. You may select from the following options:
Bank Transfer (QR Payment)
Credit/Debit Card (Note: A service fee will be applied as specified)
After selecting your payment method, click the "Pay" button. The screen will display the payment details. Finally, click the "Make Payment" button to complete the transaction.
Fees & Funding Opportunities
Tuition and Educational Fees
The MAAE program is designed as a full-time programme and can be completed within three trimesters or one year. Tuition and fees for the one-year programme paid in three installments are:
Thai Students: 256,400 baht
International Students: 271,400 baht

Scholarships
Chulalongkorn University provides two types of scholarships for graduate-level study. If an applicant to the MAAE programme is interested in applying for a scholarship, please see the information from the Graduate school website:

Students interested in one of the two Graduate School scholarships must apply and be admitted to the MAAE program BEFORE applying for a scholarship. Students applying for a scholarship must indicate their intention in the MAAE application, have results of an English Language Proficiency Test. Applicants must earn a score of 71 (IBT), 197 (CBT), 525 (ITB/PPB) or higher on the TOEFL, 67 or higher on the CU-TEP, or 5.5 or higher on the IELTS, and must be taken no more than two years before the announcement of eligible applicants, and must submit a Statement of Purpose that indicates why you want to study in the MAAE program and how the program will be beneficial to your future career. Also, the scholarship applicant must have qualification according to the criteria provided by Chulalongkorn University Graduate School.
Please note that the scholarship applicant must submit all required documents before the deadline for MAAE admission. The MAAE will recommend students for the Graduate School scholarships but is not involved in the scholarship selection. Selection is up to the Graduate School scholarship committee.
