Students complete both core and elective courses and choose either the academic option (Plan A) or the professional option (Plan B). Based on their academic interests and career goals, students may select one of two subject areas: International Economics and Finance, or Labour and Health Economics.

MAAE offers full-time daytime program that runs on a trimester schedule. Each course is taught as an intensive module that lasts 4 weeks with classes meeting on Monday – Friday from 9:00am - 12:00pm or 1:00pm - 4:00pm (or in weekends upon availability of each individual lecturer). Given the intensive nature of the courses, students study one subject at a time.
