On the Leisure World Post 12/05/18
My husband and I were just in a car wreck. A woman with a four year old boy in the back seat ran a red light. No one was badly hurt, just really shaken up. When the Mesa police came she checked to see if we were ok and then went to her car and pulled out a wooden toy car for the little boy. Suddenly that little boy wasn’t scared anymore and had a huge smile on his face as he hugged the car. The policewoman found out we live in Leisure World and asked me several times to let all of you know how much the police appreciate the toys that were donated. She said it really did help a lot of the children get through trauma. She said the boys were especially thrilled with the wooden toys. All of you that contributed are wonderful and thoughtful people.

*Some of the Cradles and toy cars that we made last year have been donated to US Marine Corp Toys for Tots, also to the Mesa Police Department and a Home for Disadvantaged Girls and Boys. We thank our members who made this possible. We also owe a big thanks the LW Quilters Club who made the beautiful quilts and blankets for the cradles. You have made a lot of children smile!
