Games and Puzzles

"You get surreal numbers by playing games. I used to feel guilty in Cambridge that I spent all day playing games, while I was supposed to be doing mathematics. Then, when I discovered surreal numbers, I realized that playing games is mathematics." ~ John B Conway.

Dr. Adnan Khan, Dr. Sultan Sial, and Dr. Imran Anwar introduced kids to many interesting puzzles including the Nim Game, The Eccentric Teacher puzzle, the Three Hat Puzzle, and the Fishermen problem (which was very elegantly solved by one of the participants).

Here are some of the highlights from the event.
