Arithmetic operation and Numbers

“[When asked why are numbers beautiful?]

It’s like asking why Ludwig van Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony is beautiful. If you don't see why, someone can't tell you. I know numbers are beautiful. If they aren't beautiful, nothing is.”

― Paul Erdos

Mathematics is a wonderful, mad subject, full of imagination, fantasy, and creativity that is not limited by the petty details of the physical world, but only by the strength of our inner light.

Dr. Hassan Mohy Ud Din picked an enticing topic Arithmetic operations and Numbers for the math circle conducted on May 27, 2022. Dr. Hassan shared surprising ways of dealing with complex arithmetic operations in his expressional ways. Toward the end of the circle, students were exposed to ancient Greek ways of dealing with summations and some peasant methods to check complex computations without calculators. Here are a few clicks of the event.
