About Lucy
Lucy is a yoga teacher and a yoga therapist. Shas been teaching yoga since 2018 at the gym, at home, online platform, studio and also private one-on-one class . During this time, she has continued her yoga education in trauma-informed yoga, kids yoga, Subtle yoga and yoga wellness program through YogaU. Since 2020, she has begun her yoga therapist training with Gary Kraftsow of America Viniyoga Institute which is an integrated yoga practice from teachings transmitted by T. Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar. The practice includes breath-centric Asana, Pranayama (breathing techniques), mantra, chanting, and meditation. The word, Viniyoga is an ancient Sanskrit term that refers to differentiation, adaptation, and appropriate application. Lucy has become a yoga therapist in 2024. She would like to help her students create healthy movements in the body, balance dysfunctional pattern in their breathing and lifestyle, regulate the nervous system and hopefully find a inner space to promote emotional freedom.
What is Viniyoga different than other yoga tradition?
Viniyoga use asana (postures) as one of the tools. It's not limited to just asana (postures), but also integrates pranayama, chanting, and meditation into the practice. We pay more attention on the benefits of the pose to the practitioner rather than achieving a perfect pose. The asana and pranayama practice emphasize on breath as a medium for movements and use breath to create energetic effect on each individual. We use sounds (chanting or even humming) to influence and regulate our autonomic nervous system, transform the mind and touch us at a place where mind and heart converge. Last but not least, we meditate to master the field of attention, deepening our capacity for self-reflection, and break our attachments and dysfunctional patterns.
Through yoga practice, Lucy was able to heal her neck injury, back pain, and sleeplessness. She believes that everyone can practice yoga. Her students range from 5 to 93 year old. Her intention is to see the student’s needs and interests, meet them where they are, and provide appropriate and accessible tools to help them move from where they were to where they wanted to go.

Lucy: "My teacher always says that yoga is about relationship. It's the relationship with myself and also the relationship with others and the world around us. It has taught me to have compassion towards ourselves and others, to forgive ourselves and others, to tolerate when being provoked, to have patience and most importantly to love and be kind."
