The majority of our dogs come from high-kill shelters in California. While we do occasionally assist with local owner surrenders when foster space is available, we are unable to accept dogs with a bite history or those who are not dog-friendly, as all of our foster homes have other animals. All of our cats come from local surrenders and are accepted only when an appropriate foster home is available.
We do not have a physical location, as we are entirely foster-based. All of our animals live in foster homes, which allows us to provide individualized care without the need for a central facility.
We do occasionally adopt to applicants outside our immediate area; however, all adopters must attend one of our adoption events and submit a completed application. If approved, the animal can be taken home the same day. Please note that we do not ship animals under any circumstances.
Our adoption fees vary depending on the animal. We base fees on adoptability, as more in-demand animals help support the medical care of others, particularly senior or special-needs pets. For example, the adoption fee for a puppy may help cover the cost of veterinary care for a 9-year-old Chihuahua that required surgery, a dental, vaccines, and other medical treatment. This system allows us to continue rescuing and providing care for animals that need it most.
All of our animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Adoption also includes:
The first year of Distemper/Parvo vaccines (through Main Street Spay & Neuter)
Rabies vaccination, once the animal is old enough (through Main Street Spay & Neuter once old enough)
Microchipping, with registration completed for you
Current flea and deworming treatments
A general health check to ensure the animal is healthy
Any required dental care prior to adoption
This ensures every animal is ready to join their new home healthy and up-to-date on essential care.
The majority of our adoption events are held at PetSmart on Willamette: Fridays from 4–7 PM and Saturdays from 11 AM–3 PM. Occasionally, we host events at other locations, and some weeks may not have events. Please check our Facebook page for the most up-to-date information on event locations and times.
Yes, it is possible to meet animals outside of our scheduled events. We recommend submitting an adoption application and contacting us via email or Facebook. Please note that private meet-and-greets are subject to the availability of our foster homes.
We occasionally accept owner surrenders if a foster home is available. However, we are unable to accept animals with a bite history or those that are dog-aggressive, as all of our foster homes have other pets.

Lightly used or new toys that can be sanitized
These donations help us provide care and comfort to the animals in our foster homes.
We are always in need of new foster homes! To apply, please submit a foster application using this link: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/43560/generic. Be sure to message us after submitting so we are aware your application has been received, as we do not have volunteers available to monitor incoming applications in real time.
We do occasionally accept fosters who rent; however, please understand that most of the dogs we rescue come from shelters and are not fully potty trained. Apartments are generally not suitable for dog fosters, as there is no secure outdoor space, and we often do not know the vaccination status of the animals. Certain diseases, such as parvovirus, are highly contagious and can persist in outdoor areas for extended periods, putting both your pets and community at risk.
At this time, we do not have a need for general volunteers, as we are entirely foster-based and do not have a physical location. If you are interested in helping animals directly, we encourage you to become a foster. You can submit a foster application here: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/43560/generic.
We will always take back an animal if a foster home is available. Please note that we do not have a physical location, so we cannot take an animal back immediately. If a puppy you adopted has grown into an adult with a bite history or is not safe around other dogs, we will not be able to accept them, as the safety of our foster homes is our top priority—all of our fosters have other animals.
If we cannot take an animal back, we are happy to help by posting a courtesy rehoming post on our Facebook page. Please email us at luckypawz25@gmail.com with information about the animal, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
We do not typically allow foster-to-adopt, as moving animals multiple times can be extremely stressful for them. However, in certain circumstances, we may offer a foster-to-adopt option on a case-by-case basis.
Submit an application – There is no cost or obligation.
Attend an adoption event – Meet the animals in person.
Questions? – Feel free to email or message us. We are entirely volunteer-run, but we will respond as soon as we are able.
