Brevard homeowners face among the highest property tax burdens in Florida. High taxes and runaway government spending directly impact your wallet. We want to limit government expansion and protect your individual liberty.
The Problem: Local politicians want to take more of your money. The Brevard County Commissioners approved a massive $2.5 billion total budget for the fiscal year. This plan includes a $1.1 billion operating budget. The School Board adopted a separate $1.62 billion budget. This extreme level of spending removes vital capital from the private sector. The government takes your hard-earned wealth to fund its own growth.
The Agitation: The state continues to expand while you pay the bill. Right now, county officials are considering a new 9-Cent Fuel Tax and a Second Local Option Five-Cents Gas Tax. These hidden fees will extract millions more from your pocket every single time you fill up your vehicle. To make matters worse, big developers receive corporate welfare and special tax breaks while everyday homeowners carry the heaviest burden.
The Solution: We must demand financial restraint and force a smaller government. We can lower your tax burden by privatizing public services and selling unused county land to private owners. We must eliminate funding for nonessential programs and reject every new tax. You hold the power to stop this overreach.
Our Core Priorities
End corporate welfare and special tax breaks for big developers.
Support large homestead exemptions and assessment caps as a step toward the total repeal of property taxes.
Require supermajority votes for any new county taxes or fees.
Prioritize core services and sunset ineffective programs.
Take Action You must voice your opposition directly to local officials.
Attend the upcoming Public Budget Hearings at 5:00 PM on September 8th and September 22nd.
