Botaničar is undoubtedly one of Zagreb's coolest places to socialize during the day. Known as one of the best-looking venues that doubles as an art gallery, this café aesthetic is inspired by the botanical gardens next door. The gentle jazzy music provides a relaxed and low-key atmosphere perfect for a casual date with friends. The terrace overlooking the National Archives gives this place extra points in our recommendations.
Amélie's is surely the ideal spot to sip a tea and munch your way through some of the Croatian Capital's best lemon meringue pies, cheesecakes and quiches. Jacqueline Troskot embarked on this "sweet" adventure in 2010, and their pastries are diligently created exclusively with the best and completely authentic ingredients: real butter, original Belgian chocolate, pistachios from Vienna and macarons made with French imported almond flour. Embark with us in this tasteful journey.

In the yard is a typical cosy coffee place where you want to stay for hours during a cold afternoon. Vinyls and a singing waitress add to the warmth of the place. The only thing missing is a fireplace. They brew and sell their own coffee which is renowned to really good. The outside terrasse is as secluded as your backyard, making it a homey and comfy. If you are looking for a quiet place to rest from the city, you've found it !
