The Special Operations Bureau, managed by Major Martin Beck. The Special Operations Bureau consists of the Detective Bureau and Metropolitan Division. This includes Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Tactical Response Team (TRT), Canine, Community Liaison Team, and Crime Impact Team (CIT).
The Los Santos County Police Department SWAT is built around the team concept. SWAT consists of a core group of full-time assigned Officers that can be mobilized with short notice. SWAT is trained in active countermeasures to effectively deal with both hostile and passive crowds. SWAT is deployed during planned demonstrations and other large gatherings that might need crowd control. The SWAT Commander is Sergeant Craig Brant.
The Los Santos County Police Department Canine is comprised of three K-9 Teams. Of those three K-9s, each has a specific set of skills that they are trained for. The Police Department utilizes the K-9s for numerous purposes, whether it's detecting the odor of illegal narcotics, or apprehending and/or tracking fleeing suspects. The K-9 Commander is Sergeant Chae Young.
On December 27th, 2022, the Los Santos County Police Department Crime Impact Team, in conjunction with our K9 Division, seized ten whole bricks of cocaine, seven assorted firearms, and upwards of $15,000 in cash. This comes after several foot pursuits and pedestrian stops. These officers are the frontline for our gang injunction efforts within the county and are doing a fantastic job at keeping the streets safe.
On December 29th, 2022, the Los Santos County Police Department METRO Canine Division was in full force. In conjunction with SASP, our canine division seized over five bricks of cocaine, one kilo of weed, five assorted handguns, and five assorted assault rifles. This prevented 10 possible gun crimes, and a huge amount of drug related crimes from being able to take place. Canine Handler Chae Young and her partner, K9 Ziah, work hard and play a huge role in keeping your streets safe to be on. Good work, you two.
