  • Future Economy Collective - If you are in need of food or supplies (including masks), complete this form. Volunteers deliver on Wednesdays and Sundays.

  • Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry - 706 Harding Ave, Blacksburg, 540-951-8134. Mon-Tue 4-6pm, Wed-Thur 10a-11:30a. If you cannot make it during these times, email bburgifp@gmail.com .

  • Blessing Box at the Waldron Wellness Center, Shawsville - Drop off a few canned goods, toiletry items or something fun! Take from it if needed. Our only request is that we all be respectful and only take only what you need.

  • Giles Christian Service Mission provides food boxes, diapers, and wipes to Giles Residents in need. You can call 540-921-2146 for food qualification or 540-921-3006 for diapers and wipes.

  • The Giving Tree Food Pantry - 2455 Peppers Ferry Rd NW Christiansburg, Fridays, 4:30 to 6:30pm. New patrons should bring ID with proof of current residence. No proof of need required. Please stay in your car.

  • Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program. The office is closed, but still providing food assistance. Please call 540-382-6186 or 381-1561.

  • New River Community Action can help with gift cards for groceries, rent and mortgage assistance, food, household supplies, infant formula. Pulaski (540) 980-5525 | Radford (540) 320-7460 | Montgomery (540) 382-6186 | Floyd (540) 745-2102 | Giles (540) 921-2146.

  • NRV Elderly, Disabled, and Immunocompromised Facebook group - Check here to ask for help with deliveries to people who are homebound.

  • Plenty! Food Pantry Operating Monday: 10am-1pm, Tuesday: 1-4pm, and Thursday 4-6:30pm using drive through only. 192 Elephant Curve Road, Floyd. 540-745-3898, plenty@swva.net.   • The Salvation Army - Assistance available in person at 80 College St. Christiansburg, 9:30-3:30 M-F (usually closed for lunch 12-1). Food bags available once daily for your family size - sandwiches, meat, etc. Food boxes available once every 30 days for your family size - canned goods and other non-perishables.

  • The Shelter food pantry and other support for university students, Radford, VA.

  • Spiritual Roots Food Bank, Dwelling Place Church, 3325 N. Franklin St, Christiansburg, VA. Tues & Wed 4pm-6pm. Bring ID. One visit per person every 30 days.

  • SNAP - The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps eligible low-income households by providing an electronic benefits transfer card (EBT) that is used at grocery stores to increase food purchasing power, reduce hunger, increase food safety and provide nutritious diets. Apply online at https://commonhelp.virginia.gov/ .

  • Taking It To The Streets Ministries will help Pulaski residents with food and basic necessities. Call (276) 620-4293.

  • Tiny Pantry at LewisGale Hospital, 3700 S. Main St Blacksburg. Take what you need, leave what you can.

  • Town of Pulaski Senior Center has a food pantry for seniors needing assistance. Call (540) 994-8627 Monday-Friday, 8:30-5 to request assistance. Staff can coordinate delivery of food and necessities.

Food for Kids

  • Bobcat Backpacks - weekend food for Radford City school children.

  • Micah’s Backpack - Families in need of weekend meals for Montgomery County Public School kids should contact their principal.

  • No Kid Hungry - Caregivers seeking meals for children can text the word “FOOD” (or “COMIDA”) to 877-877 to find emergency food distribution sites in their neighborhoods.

  • YMCA Meals on Main for youth and children. Bring kids Mondays & Friday afternoons for multiple to-go meals and snacks. OCTOBER 2020 UPDATE: new information about location and hours can be found here.

Meals

  • Boys and Girls Club meals at Shawsville Middle School. Mon, Wed, Fri, 4-6pm. Children (18 years and younger) must be present.

  • Bread of Life of Floyd Co.

    • Floyd Babtist Church Annex Building is giving out boxed meals to anyone in need. Monday-Friday 11am-1pm at 509 E. Main St, Floyd Va.

    • Also providing delivery and run free errands for elderly.

  • Gillies: Gift certificates available through Future Economy Collective (limited supply). 153 College Ave, Blacksburg.

  • Hokie House: Free meals to children. 322 N. Main St, Blacksburg.

  • Newport Cares Free Lunch Fridays- Newport Rescue Squad is delivering meals to people in need in Giles. Contact the Newport-Mt. Olivet UMC office at (540) 544-7183.

  • New River Agency on Aging - Home delivered meals, medical transportation, phone checks, and more. (540) 980 7720, (866) 260-4417 (Floyd & Giles), nrvaoa@nrvaoa.org

  • Radford - Fairlawn Daily Bread Call the kitchen (540.838.2210) to order meals and drive/walk-up to entrance for pick-up (501 Second St. Radford). Also offers Meals On Wheels to people who are homebound.

  • Room at the Table - Free, drive-thru, to-go meals for the first 100 individuals every Tuesday from 4:00pm to 6:30pm, Christiansburg Presbyterian Church (CPC), 107 W Main St, Christiansburg, VA (back parking lot). Food provided by Subway and Due South BBQ. VDH guidelines followed.

SNAP Benefits

  • SNAP Benefits (Food Stamps): Households in need may apply for SNAP immediately and are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Households may file applications in person, by mail, by fax, by telephone to the Enterprise Customer Service Center at 855-635-4370 or online at www.commonhelp.virginia.gov

  • Blacksburg Farmers Market is doubling SNAP dollars up to $50. 10a-2pm Saturdays.

Supplies

  • 3D Printed PPE - Use this form to request PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) printed by volunteers on 3D printers (Southwest VA only).

  • Future Economy Collective - If you are in need of sanitation supplies, complete this form.

  • NRV Elderly, Disabled, and Immunocompromised Facebook group - Check here to ask for help with deliveries to people who are homebound.

  • NRV Mask Makers if you are a healthcare professional or nonprofit working with vulnerable groups, check here for information on how to request volunteer-made masks.

  • Cover Up NRV - Masks available for free. Stop by Grace Episcopal Church, 210 Fourth Street, Radford anytime to select one from the clothesline.

  • MCEAP Thrift Store & More is fulfilling wish lists from the Christmas Store at a distance this year. If you were a 2019 client, you will get a form in the mail. If you need to be added this year (or maybe if your address has changed?) call 540-391-0549

  • NRV Diaper Pantry. 540-358-0329. Free diapers (baby to pull-ups to adult) plus wipes. Available with photo ID and proof of address 4:30-6:30pm every Friday and on the third and fourth Wednesdays of each month, Agape Center (New River Community Church), 2455 Peppers Ferry Rd, Christiansburg.
