4th - April 20-24

Okay, not sure how many of you are showing up to see what is on the website, but I am going to go forward with the mindset that everyone of you out there are watching, learning and hopefully enjoying what I am putting on my music pages. If you are reading this and are enjoying let me know by sending me a picture/video of what you are doing, especially if you are playing your recorder or trying to do the dance steps, would love to see these things. Also, there is a lot of stuff this week and I am trying to cover a lot of ground, I have had communication with some of you and I have asked for feed back so I am trying to listen to what I am hearing and put those ideas to work. Hopefully that explains what is going on with all the things you are seeing this week, remember, you don't have to all of it in one day, pick and choose so that you have something new to do each day. With that being said, here is my email address: loeksd@apps.district279.org

Here are four more recorder songs, one that we have done in class and the other three are new, and they are using more than just B, A and G and are adding E. Like I said earlier, it would be great if you could send me a video after you have practiced and have a song down send it to me, I would love to hear, and then when we get back to school I can give you even more belts, I will make up some new colors, You could really end up with a rainbow on your recorder!

Now, how about some rhythm work, easy maybe but fun. Now what you could do is create your own instrument, all you have to remember is that a percussion instrument is anything that you can shake, scrape or hit, so that means just about anything can be a percussion instrument! Once you have the instrument created, play it to the rhythm on the video. Good luck and have fun!

Okay, I know "Sunflower" was on here last week but i like it, and since this is my website I am putting it on again. I am also putting the lyrics to "Dance Monkey", although not a big fan of her voice, and the lyrics may have a little to be desired, but it is a catchy little tune.

The next video is supposedly an easy dance video to go with "Dance Monkey", now maybe it isn't the easiest but here is what you could do. Create your own dance routine to the song, maybe not all of the song, but during the parts that are repeated, then when you have a routine that you like and have it pretty much perfected, send a video to me, you have my email address let me know, don't let your creativity go to waste! Get some family members to do it with you, Wheeler sisters, here is your chance to let loose, get mom involved as well!

Don't forget to practice this one again, it's not done till you got it down! Could be a dance off once we are back in school!!! YOU NEVER KNOW!

One more song to sing as well and I don't get enough of, I have my dreams yet and this song reminds me that I need to keep those dreams alive and keep moving forward!

One last dream of mine, that I could get all my 4th graders to sing this song!

Since it is Earth Day this week I have a request of you, listen to this song, "What A Wonderful World", Louis Armstrong is singing, then give it another listen and as you listen to it imagine what your wonderful world would look like and then put it to paper, draw a picture, snap a picture of it and send it my way, would love to see what your 'wonderful world' would look like!
