Katy Davies is Managing Director of Cap Air Systems, a fast-growing UK electronics manufacturer delivering PCB assembly, cable harnessing and box build. Alongside this, Katy is National Chair of the Citizen Hub movement, a community-powered model helping towns and “cold spots” reimagine how wellbeing, skills and opportunity fit together locally. She brings that blend of commercial rigour and lived leadership into regional and national policy conversations on skills, productivity and industrial strategy, including board positions as Vice Chair of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority Business Board, and board member of Made Smarter East, Women in Manufacturing UK, Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce and tech advisory board of Cambridge Wireless. Over the past 20 years, she has worked across finance, operational transformation, and growth, beginning at Deloitte, then leading change at aerospace and defence manufacturer Marshall, and has spent the last 10 years in turnaround and transformation of SME manufacturers.
Steve Hodges is a Distinguished Professor in Computing and Digital Systems at Lancaster University where he creates new digital devices, tools, and experiences that change what people do with technology. He works at all scales from prototype to production, and has contributed directly to millions of devices with tens of millions of users. His projects span domains such as the internet of things, mobile & ubiquitous computing, assistive technologies, and education.
Steve is also a passionate proponent and communicator of all things tech. The impact of his work inspiring and empowering over 70 million children to be technology creators has been acknowledged with the IET Mountbatten Medal, the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Education and an honorary doctorate from Hasselt University. He is also a Fellow of the ACM, the IEEE and the IET, and a member of the ACM SIGCHI Academy.
