Journey - Katyayan Gauniyal

There were many wishes and wants but going out of my hometown was one of the prominent ones, I grabbed the opportunity of fellowship with the vision to contribute to my nation. I took the morning bus from Roorkee to Delhi and was the first one to reach the fellow home on 4th September 2022.

By 9th September everyone came and we got into the zone of Morning quiet time where I deep dive into the 4 values - purity, honesty, unselfishness and love. During the National Youth conference, I got the taste of change and there began my journey and process of becoming a better version of myself every day.

After I began introspecting and reflecting, I was certain that I wanted this to be my lifestyle. I have learned so much about myself - the things I am good at, the places where I lack, what I desire, my passion and my dreams. After the Bhanpura Youth Conference, I felt blessed with a lot of erudition, and my self-confidence escalated. I always used to have self-doubt when it came to public speaking but when I addressed 522 participants at the Conference the self-doubt within me vanished which was only possible because of fellowship. I switched from Thinking to Doing. One very important thing I learnt is Nipping things in the bud. I always used to pile up things in my mind and which would end up in sudden outbursts but here in the fellowship we all have honest conversations and focus more on listening than responding.

When it comes to work ethics, I am really inspired by Viral Sir. The amount of hard work he has done and is still doing in everything let it be LMAD or personal chores is exceptional.

Now for me, the meaning of Purity, honesty, unselfishness and love have evolved.

I always wished to meet inspirational and enlightened people. The fellowship gave me the opportunity to interact and learn from Vice-chancellors, Teachers, Co-ordinators, Vice-Principals, Principals, and Head of Departments of various top-notch institutions.

I have grown up in Roorkee and would often go to IIT Roorkee to see the campus. It was always a dream to meet the director and the faculty there, which came true through the fellowship during our Rishikesh trip. From doing nothing to doing something contrasting .
