Rishikesh - Haridwar Trip


Three fellows Tanishqa, Tanishk and Sayok boarded the night train to Haridwar on 3 May, 2022.


04 May, 2022 (Tuesday): The fellows reached Rishikesh in the morning and checked into Hitam Home. They had already mapped out the entire day's work, and all three fellows left for their own work. The aim for the day was to find suitable accommodation, a venue for the Tea Party and fun activities that can be done in Rishikesh.


The places of stay that were visited:


  • Hotel Green View - by Greentree Hotels

  • Hotel Nirvana Palace

  • Hotel Yog Vashisht - Rooms are not available. Met the Receptionist Mr. Manoj who gave the contact of another accommodation Hotel Trihari, but this too was sold out for the month of May.

  • Pink - Guest house

  • Shree Radhe Radhe - The tariffs are too high and the rooms are below average.

  • Raj Palace Hotel

  • Vanaprastha Ashram

  • Parmarth Niketan Ashram - The rooms were booked till June 16. There was no scope of bookings.


Tanishqa went and interacted with the parents of the students who were selected to come for the National Youth Conference. She also explored the main market and found photographers to cover the Tea Party.

Sayok went with Acharya Naresh to two venues that could be ascertained as the venue for the Tea Party.


  • The Neeraj Ganga Heritage Palace - He met Mr. Dushyant Singh and saw their restaurant and hall. The hall was not equipped to cater 30 people. The restaurant seemed conducive for hosting a Tea Party. He took a list of

  • Vasundhara Palace - The restaurant was dim. The hall could be used for the Tea Party.


Sayok talked with Vijay ji for the catering services for the langar.


A discussion about the menu and prices with the hotel manager, Mr. Dushyant Singh was fixed. They also visited Vasundhara palace for the same.


05 May, 2022 (Wednesday): Sayok went to Hitam Life, the Vedic centre where we would do the Havan. Meanwhile, Tanishqa and Tanishk went to print the invitation cards, and then separated in 2 different directions to distribute them and invite the Principals. The schools they covered were:


  • Happy Home Montessori - 1

  • Punjab Sindh Kshetra College

  • Shri Bharat Mandir Inter College

  • Swami Dayanand Saraswati SCP Inter College

  • Government Inter College

  • Saraswati Vidya Mandir

  • TES High school

  • Purnanand Public School

  • Pt. Lalit Mohan Sharma PG college

  • Shri Jai Ram Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya


LMAD was recognised in every school and we were warmly greeted by the staff and faculty.


Meanwhile, Sayok had a discussion about the menu for the langar with Vijay Ji. The standard meal for the langar included Rice, Puri, Dal, Sabji (Aloo Chole), Suji and Water.


In the evening, we had a meeting with a few participants of the Uttarakhand Youth Conference over samosas and lassi. Participants shared and asked a few questions, they also expressed their willingness to help in the district.


After that, we visited The Neeraj Ganga Heritage Palace, which was set to be the venue for the party. We tasted the food there, and had a short conversation with Mr. Singh, and finalised the place.


06 May, 2022 (Friday): They left for Haridwar where they planned to meet participants from Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya.

They talked about the Aspirational District and gave them space to share about their journey.


The points they covered were:


  • What are the changes you observed?

  • How was your routine?

  • What progress have you made on the thought you had for quiet time?

  • How was your experience of working with Aviral?

  • How can you help us in the District?


Before getting out of the campus we interacted with Kuldeep ji and SK Rajput ji about the Punyabhoomi.


During the afternoon we cruised around the city for hotels and cafes

  • Hotel Satkar


They met Madhusudhan Ji who then connected us with many schools and institutes. He is the head of the Goodwill Society of India and the Human Rights Society of India.


Staying in contact with him is essential as he might create opportunities for us in the Aspirational district by connecting us with institutions.


After our dinner we boarded the midnight train and were back home the next morning.
