LK & Friends is a home for books, essays, confidential editorial work, personal histories, and a hands-on animal care project — without forcing them into a single message or ideology.
This section contains published and long-form written work on historical, social, and institutional subjects. These are completed pieces written for readers who want to engage thoughtfully with complex material and difficult realities.
This work is for individuals who have lived through abuse, trauma, or institutional harm and want their experiences shaped into a finished, coherent written record. The focus is editorial: organizing material, strengthening language, establishing structure, and bringing manuscripts to completion.
Some survivor manuscripts are created solely for private preservation. Others are prepared for publication, with clear consent and a defined process. LK & Friends has a structured plan for publishing selected survivor stories for those who want their work to be read, not lost.
This work is editorial in nature and focused on producing a finished manuscript that reflects the author’s experience accurately and responsibly.
Righting the Writing — Editorial Notes
An editorial series focused on structure, clarity, discipline, and narrative strength in memoir and personal narrative. Written for work that must withstand scrutiny.
These projects focus on recording life stories for individuals and families who want their histories documented clearly, respectfully, and in their own words. This work is intended for people who want a permanent written record for children, grandchildren, or future generations.
Interviews can be conducted by phone and are shaped into a polished written narrative. A completed copy is provided upon completion, with additional copies available if requested.
The Feral Care Project provides practical, ongoing care for feral and abandoned cats and supports humane population control through trap-neuter-return (TNR).

LK & Friends is guided by three core values: still kind. still human. still care. These values shape how all work is approached — with thoroughness, respect, and attention to responsibility. Whether the work involves writing, editorial projects, personal histories, or hands-on animal care, it is carried out carefully, deliberately, and with consideration for the people and lives involved.
