The process of adding captions to your stream is fairly straightforward. Using Webcaptioner, you can configure your stream to have captions in less than 5 minutes. To begin the process, simply launch Google Chrome and navigate to https://webcaptioner.com.
From this page, you will be able to click the “Start Captioning” button on the page, which will bring up the captioning window. At the main captioning window, you will be able to click the “Start Captioning” button to immediately begin captioning.
From the main captioning interface, once you have clicked the “Start Captioning” button, ensure that Webcaptioner is listening to the correct microphone. If it is not listening to the correct microphone, you will need to change the default microphone in your System Preferences (macOS) or Sound Settings (Windows). Please ensure that you are using the microphone that you are intending to use during your livestreams as this will ensure the most accurate captioning during your content creation.
To set up captions for your stream, select Adding Captions from the menu under Setting up WebCaptioner.
