In 1965 the boys got the short end in this coed building, 12 of us shared this basic training type open bay barracks. The girls were four to a room with a dresser and closet, while we got those tiny little wooden cabinets. Amazingly they eventually crammed even more bunks into this area (I counted 18 beds), now so close together that warning signs about communicable diseases in cramped quarters were taped to the bunks (I am not making this up). Had these living conditions existed in 1965 I doubt if my parents would have paid for me to attend.
