Saluttions, Savle, Valon and Galto, and Venuelos to Lesson 4! (That meant 'Hello, hello, hello and hello, and welcome to Lesson 4)
As you can see from the above example, Litish does not lose its complexity when coming to greetings, either. Here is the vocabulary for that, and when they are used.
Saluttions/ Hello (Formal/ Singular OR Plural)
Pronunciation: SA-loot-xhion-seh
Savle/ Hello (Informal, Generalized/ Singular OR Plural)
Pronunciation: SAH-v-leh
Valon, Valones/ Hello (Informal, Masculine)
Pronunciation: VAH-lawn, VAH-LONE-ehs
Galto, Galtones/ Hello (Informal, Feminine)
Pronunciation: GAHl-toh, Gahl'tones
Venuelos/ Welcome
Pronunciation: Veh-Nweh'lohs
Confusing, right? Don't worry, hopefully the Quizlet flashcards later will make short work of that.
Now. Titles come by Formality and Matrimony; its existence or absence. Here is a definitive list of titles unrelated to jobs:
Mr, Ms (unmarried)/ Misteir, Meis
Pronunciation: Miss-tear (paper)gh, Mays
Mr, Mrs (married)/ Mistoir, Misus
Pronunciation: Miss-toire, my-soos
Mr, Mdm (Formal for both married or unmarried)/ Domet, Damet
Pronunciation: Doi-met, die-met
Master (boys), Miss (girls)/ Morf, meef
Pronunciation: Morph, Mee'f
Darling/ Haeaw
Pronunciation: Hai-ooh
Now, we have this random phrase in the middle of the lesson for NO PURPOSE WHATSOEVER. 'Goodness Me'
Goodni Moi! (good-nye mwa)
Next, we have greetings for different times of the day. This is interesting. The equivalent of 'good' in 'good morning' is at the back, and it is based on AM and PM - AM being 'Niry' and PM being 'Nirus'. This can also used to tell the time with a direct Earth translation, not using the Lithium Time & Date (LTD).
Good Morning/ Morn niry
Pronunciation: Mourn nih-ree (the ree is short)
Good Afternoon/ Anoone niry
Pronunciation: Ah-noo-ne nih-ree (the ree is short)
Good Evening/ Evelyno Nirus
Pronunciation: Ehv-lin-noh nih-ruhs
Good Night/ Witckling Nirus
Pronunciation: Wit-kuh-kling nih-ruhs
Before we say goodbye, let's discuss formalities. This may include 'How are you', and the classic mother's 'magic words'
How (is sbdy, Informal)/ Lupiton-tuas? (note the hyhen) (How are you?)
Pronunciation: loop-ih-tohn
How (is sbdy, Formal)/ Luptiton-tuas? (note the hyphen) (How are you?)
Pronunciation: loop-ti-tohn
Please/ Dagray
Pronunciation: dah-gray
NOTE: Dagray is always used after the verb, e.g. "Give please me the item", not "Please give me the item" or "Give me the item, please"
Thank You/ Gratefo
Pronunciation: grah-teh-foh
You’re Welcome/ Drenko
Pronunciation: Dreng-ko
*More French Roots, sorry, or you're welcome, whichever you wanted, and with that...
Sorry/ Leminot, Leminote
Pronunciation: Lemme-note/naught, Lemme-note-ay
And finally, Bye!
Goodbye/ Adieute (Generally Formal)
Pronunciation: ahdee-ooh-teh (The'ooh' is very short)
Bye/ Aveedarkt! (Generally Informal)
Pronunciation: ah-vee-dark-t
Have a nice life; a good day/ Bovio! (not considered rude, traditional Litish greeting)
Pronunciation: boh-vyo
To sum up today's lesson, LITISH IS BASICALLY STILL CONFUSING.
