At some point after the creation of Pefce, God didn't have the time to pay close attention to Reality anymore. So God decided to create a new demigod, which would be tasked with observing and caring for Reality. Confined to Reality, this new being has very little contact with the other demigods except for every now and then when they may run into Sixth or Death. Ul-Deus is forbidden by god to make any direct contact with the mortals living in reality, so now and then when they find a wandering spirit they like to chat a little bit, which is another way ghosts get to know about the history of the world. Some believe that Ul-Deus does indirectly contact Mortals, and has on occasion done this with some humans. Others think that Ul-Deus can tip the odds on a situation, which is how they can, by clause, influence Reality without disobeying God.

Of course, it is not certain that Ul-Deus influences Reality at all, but it would provide a good explanation for various things. If Ul-Deus does do such things, what they do is not immoral, and is just done in to help with loneliness. Defying God's wishes does not constitute a sin, as sin remains "an immoral act committed, without good reason, against another person or animal". What Ul-Deus would be doing is not truly immoral, and they have good reason for it too, that being the spirit of socialization, which they are deprived of.
