The First Order of Lithias is made up of those who believe in the Lithan Moral Philosophy.
Simply put, the Lithan Moral Philosophy is based on the idea "Do what you think is best for others".
That simplification gets a point across but could be dangerous if used as a blanket statement. Lithans see morality as positives, neutrals, and negatives. It is not morally wrong to do something that is selfish if it doesn't harm another person, or if you don't realize it does. Moral Negatives are only things that are done with intentions of hurting a person or knowledge that it does hurt a person. All actions harming or helping someone have a moral net-weight, so in an instance like the trolley problem, given no knowledge of who the people are, it isn't morally wrong to knowingly kill that one person to save the other five. If you find out information on these people afterward and that one person was about to find a cure for cancer, although now so many people will still die because of your choice, it won't count against you as you did not knowingly prevent the cure for cancer to be found.
If a man robs a bank and during the robbery, he ends up shooting a teller, if intentional that would be morally wrong, but if he regrets this action afterward, that would subtract how wrong the action is. However, if he shot them accidentally but had no regret or sympathy this would be morally wrong. Sympathy is very important to long-term moral standings. If a reformed criminal regrets their actions and/or has sympathy for those that were hurt by them, that can make them less "morally in debt", but to what degree depends on how sinful that crime was.
A huge reason against the validity of that top blanket statement of Lithan Moral Philosophy is that you should not only do what is best for others. It is important to care for yourself, so although it is morally right to help others, you should think of yourself as the you that is thinking, and the you that is your mental and physical health. With this in mind, it is not wrong to once in a while do something that harms another if it is in the mind of caring for your health. Extreme Hedonism is not always morally correct if you are consistently choosing yourself over others, but occasional or casual self-care, even at the expense of others, is encouraged.
In Lithan beliefs, sinning is defined as "an immoral act committed, without good reason, against another person or animal".
Endless knot, a common symbol for Karma in Asia
Karma is a subcategory of the Lithan Moral Philosophy, which is hardly driven until Order 4
Karma acts very similarly to morals, with most actions having positive and negative values. Karma however is rawer in idea, in that you can get bad Karma by doing something that is not morally wrong. Unlike one's moral debt, Karma does not carry over into the afterlife. If someone does something that would be considered bad or upsetting to others, even if by accident, usually by society, they are more likely to have something bad happen to them. Likewise, if a person does a good deed, they are more likely to have something good done unto them.
It is not known but theorized that Karma moves with the Soul. This would mean that positive or negative Karma balance will impact the life of the next person your soul goes to.*
*Souls are not a concept until Order 3 of Lithias.
The basis for everything in Order 1 is the Lithan Moral Philosophy. A follower of order 1 does have the liberty of picking and choosing what parts of this level they do believe in, as long as they agree with the Lithan Moral Philosophy. Despite that, since just about everything else here is based on that philosophy, it would make the most sense to agree with all of the following ideas.
Lithias is very tolerant of all religions. Lithans are encouraged to immerse themselves in the culture of various other religions, in order to gain a deeper understanding of those around them. It isn't necessarily morally correct to explore these other religions, nor is it morally wrong not to, but it is encouraged. It does not matter if a Lithan disagrees with the teachings of any particular religion, or even if they are offended by it or the actions of its followers, they should respect that religion as if it were another person, and similarly, they should respect the followers of that religion.
For the most part, everyone thinks that their religious beliefs are correct, but as not everyone can be correct, Lithias aspires to fit in as smoothly as it can with other religions. The following is not always believed by followers of the first order of Lithias: Delving deeper into Lithan Orders, it is admitted that other religions are not correct about everything, but many are correct in some areas. The basic idea is that all modern religions, in part, stem from pre-historic beliefs gathered from divine sources unknown (Demi-Gods, Angels, or Demons). As said, these myths radiated into many different religions, losing parts and gaining new parts through the ages. The Lithan beliefs are then a recurrence of the old beliefs, granted return by the guiding hand of divinity.
