This sample assessment examine a student's knowledge of how sounds make words. This particular assessment says it is to be given to students who are four years old three times a year. Students are asked to repeat words and determine whether they have rhyming sounds, produce a word with rhyming sounds when given a word, and determine if two words have the same starting sound.
This sample assessment is the DIBELS 8th Edition Benchmark-Grade 2 Scoring Booklet. Within this phonics assessment, the student is being evaluated on their Nonsense Word Fluency, Word Reading Fluency, and Oral Reading Fluency. There are three versions of each assessment to be used over the course of the school year (beginning, middle, and end). The DIBELS assessment provides the examiner with a script and specific prompts for multiple scenarios.
Teachers can create their own informal assessments to detect whether students can recognize and/or pronouce words in isolation. Creating a list of words- from a graded list or from certain content areas. Asking the students to red each word, use it in a sentence, explain the meaning or providing synonym or antonym. However for written tests', students can match words with the meanings. Teachers can then, look at the results and see which students are where they are supposed to be and which students are not and need extra assistance.
This sample assessment is the Wonders fluency assessment booklet for grades 1-6. The book includes a oral reading fluency "norms" chart to base a students score off of. As well as letter naming fluency, phonemic segmentation fluency, and sight word fluency assessments. it also has assessments broken down into grade for grades 1-6 and the difficult varies depending on the level the grade is expected to be at. The last thing in the book are given comprehension questions for the teachers to use and the answers they should get in return from students.
This sample assessment is Nebraska State Accountabilty 3rd grade reading test. For this assessment students are being evaluated on how well they can comprehend a given text. Within this test there are 2 passages that the students will have to read over. After finishing the reading the students will then have to answer 7 question for each passage they read. The questions will be pertain to the story that the student just read. This assessment will help teachers detemine their students skills level. Which will aid teachers in supporting their students reading success by meeting them where they are academically.
