Reflection
Flexibility is a value I hold highly, especially in myself. Though I prefer structure, I can pivot when necessary. Being able to adapt quickly is essential in my field. In stressful situations, I analyze the problem and find the best response. Generally, I work well under pressure, but too many changes in a short period may make me feel like I have no control. I try to break down the end goal into smaller, manageable pieces. Based on the Big Five Personality Test and personal experience, I rate my stress tolerance as high. I have a sense of control, optimism, and calmness when under high-stress emergencies. When negative emotions prevail, I tend to withdraw. This struggle negatively impacts my ability to cope. I tend to withdraw socially, leading to exhaustion, emotional outbursts, or isolation. Cognitive distortions are beliefs that cause individuals to misunderstand reality. I identify when my mind is playing tricks on me and reframe my thoughts to have less of a negative impact on my mood and behavior.
