Some of IBM's buildings utilize digital badges, while others rely on physical badges. A physical badge, like those used by IBM, is a tangible identification card that allows authorized individuals access to secure areas and resources. These badges facilitate smooth entry and usage of equipment such as printers, playing a crucial role in maintaining safety and efficiency in the workplace.
In contrast, IBM's digital badge experience utilizes IBM's w3 mobile app on various device types. This innovative approach allows users to access secure areas and resources with just a few taps on their smartphones. Digital badges can offer real-time updates, remote access capabilities, and enhanced tracking features, making them a flexible and convenient option. Additionally, they can be easily updated or revoked, ensuring that security protocols are upheld.
