A concept course
This concept course was developed following the ADDIE model as part of the Accelerator Instructional Design program. The fictional client was a national training organisation with campuses across Australia, seeking a session for its annual management meeting. The session was designed to achieve three key outcomes:
Reduce employee attrition to competitors offering flexible working arrangements.
Address senior management objections and concerns regarding flexible work.
Develop a roadmap for managers to implement flexible working arrangements.
The deliverables included a 90-minute session designed for facilitation by the HR manager, complete with a slide deck, participant workbook, and facilitator guide.
Tools Utilised: PowerPoint * Canva * Google Files * Google Sheets * Chat GPT * Trello
Skills Applied: Project Management * Training Needs Analysis * Adult Learning Theory * Course Design * Storyboarding * Instructional Design * Graphic Design * Feedback Integration
I focused on crafting an engaging learner experience, emphasising the primacy/recency effect by incorporating engagement opportunities every five minutes.
The participant workbook complements the session with a variety of activities, including a quiz, matching exercise, reflection task, glossary, and practical steps for implementing flexible work arrangements.
This comprehensive resource links the slide deck with the participant workbook, providing clear timings, detailed instructions, and tips for customisation.
