I use my academic research skills to challenge issues of race and sport in college athletics.
I love me some yoga! I am certified to teach yoga and meditation to the traumatic brain injury community.
This is Nas the Homie. She is a Pitbull & German Shorthaired Pointer I rescued from the Pasadena Humane Shelter.
I started teaching at Cerritos College as a part-time instructor in January 2020 (what a year to start a new job!) It was my first job as a professor, and the moment I set foot on the campus, it felt like my life was a movie scene where the main character found her destiny.
Besides my teaching job, other passions that bring me purpose are researching, teaching and practicing yoga, meditating, walking with my dog, and laughing ridiculously loud with my family and friends.
Yoga and meditation help me process my experiences and emotions; often, I don't even know how I feel about something until I involve my physical body. My goal is to help you see the value of meditation as a tool for boosting your emotional intelligence, too.
Now I look forward to learning about all of you!
