Connect Sony ECM-674 microphone to H4n port 1
AUDIO I/F -> CONNECT
Press port 1 button in H4N in order to activate the XLR microphone (check that port 1 button has a red light on)
MONITOR ON (if you want to connect auricular to the H4N and listen live)
PHANTOM ON +48V (when using a condenser mic, like Sony ECM 672)
PLUG-IN ON
Don't forget to set mic levels between 70-80
Note: The effects works when the H4n recorder is connected via USB to a computer and the frequency is set to 44.1 kHz.
Menu -> EFFECT
Click on the effect selected by default (the last effect opened)
Scroll until you reach number 50
Click on EDIT
Click on PRE AMP and edit these settings:
OFF/ON: ON
TYPE: AG MPRE
COMP: 5
DE-ESSER: 5
LOW CUT: 5
MIDDLE: 0dB
TREBBLE: 0dB
BASS: -6dB (for Voice over) / 0dB (for Podcasting)
LEVEL: 80
ZNR: 8
EFX: OFF
LEVEL: 80
RENAME: Give it a name
STORE -> EXECUTE
Install OBS Studio:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:obsproject/obs-studio
sudo apt update
sudo apt install ffmpeg obs-studio
Connect H4n recorder to computer via USB
Launch OBS Studio
Go to Preferences -> Audio and change Sample Rate to 44.1 kHz
Launch PulseAudio Volume Control or Gnome Control Center->Sound and be sure to set these settings:
IMPORTANT: After recording with OBS, in order to reproduce and listen to the video with fidelity, OBS must be closed.
Connect H4n recorder to computer via USB
Launch SimpleScreenRecorder and check settings in image below
Launch Gnome Control Center->Sound and check settings in image below
