Debbie Kelly

Director and Speech and Language Therapist

Based in Stratford upon Avon

With 25 years experience, I worked both in the UK and abroad before furthering my studies with a Masters at University College London. While maintaining my work with the NHS, I trained as an Intermediary and worked with the Ministry of Justice for a couple of years before having my 3 children. I have now set myself the new challenge of providing an independent service to families wanting someone to listen to their concerns and work with them and colleagues in the NHS to support their child's communication with effective intervention.

I have worked in a variety of specialisms including 0-3 year complex needs, school age and most recently special schools. I have a wide range of post graduate training and experience including SCERTS, PECS and Makaton. Although this has developed specialist skills with autism spectrum conditions and complex special needs, I enjoy working with children who have a range of speech, language and communication difficulties.

Whilst it is important to use a range of evidence-based approaches to deliver individualised therapy programmes I want my approach to working with children and teenagers to be creative, motivating and fun.

Lorna McKirgan

Associate Speech and Language Therapist

Based in Leamington Spa.

After completing my Masters degree at University College London, I began my career in London, working with a range of both pre-school and primary school aged children. Since moving to Warwickshire 18 years ago I have specialised in working with pre-school children with a range of communication difficulties.

I can offer in-depth assessment and treatment of young children combining evidence-based therapy approaches with the individual communication strengths and needs of children. I have specialists skills in treating:

· language delay and disorders,

· speech delay and disorders,

· early dysfluency,

· selective mutism,

· autism and other social communication difficulties.

I enjoy working in partnership with families, early years settings and other healthcare professionals to provide support both at home and within nursery settings. I have helped to develop and deliver a range of training packages to parents/carers, education and health colleagues.

I have post-graduate training in Makaton, PECS, SCERTS, Palin Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Lidcombe Therapy Programme. Over the past year during the Covid-19 restrictions I have developed skills in adapting and delivering therapy for Parent-Child Interaction via Telehealth.

Nicola Cole

Associate Speech and Language Therapist

Based in Warwick.

I qualified as a Speech & Language Therapist from the University of Reading in 1998 and started my working life in Surrey working for the NHS in community clinics, nurseries, mainstream & special schools as well as a multi disciplinary assessment centre . I returned to Warwickshire in 2002 and continued to work in the NHS developing my skills working with an under 2’s complex needs caseload, in special schools and more lately in mainstream schools. I have experience working with children who have a wide range of difficulties with speech, language & communication development.

I think its important to work in partnership with parents & other important people in a child’s life, together we can agree functional & achievable goals. Therapy activities will be fun & motivating

I have post graduate training in Makaton, PECS, SCERTS, Intensive Interaction and Palin Parent Child Interaction Therapy.
