Challenge: Construct a Distinctive Coin Sorting Device
Overview: You are tasked with designing and building an original coin sorting system that can accurately separate U.S. pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. Your solution should demonstrate both technical proficiency and creative thinking, resulting in a device that is unlike existing commercial products.
Criteria:
Must sort pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters with 100% accuracy.
System must have a vibrating hopper system. The system will be provided (switch, battery case, and motor)
3D printed parts can be designed, printed and utilized in the system.
Recommended construction materials (cardboard, foamboard, duct tape, hot glue gun)
Creativity is required. Your system must be unique in someway.
Constraints:
The system cannot take up more space than a 1ft squared.
Must be completed within a specified time.
Materials cannot be purchased.
Our design included a shoot with three tracks to sort. Once the coins fell into their designated spots, they followed a track into a box where they were collected.
