A Breeder's Heart: Love, Care, & the Unpredictability of Life
Bringing a kitten into your home is a beautiful journey, and I’m honored to be a part of it. As a breeder, I take immense pride in raising healthy, well-socialized, and well-rounded Siberian kittens. This isn’t just a responsibility—it’s a deep passion and commitment.
I stand behind the health of my kittens, which is why I offer a two-year genetic health guarantee to ensure peace of mind. I do everything I can to produce strong, vibrant kittens by carefully selecting breeding pairs, prioritizing genetics, providing top-tier nutrition, and raising them with love and enrichment. However, life is life, and some things are simply beyond my control.
As a mother of four, I’ve learned firsthand that no matter how much care and intention we put into bringing life into the world, there are no absolute guarantees. My youngest son was born with a small, under developed ear, and a heart condition that required surgery when he was just 10 months old. I've shared more about my son's journey in a YouTube video, if you're curious to learn more, you can watch it HERE.
Despite my best efforts to have a healthy pregnancy, eating a pure, nourishing diet, and doing everything “right.” It was devastating. For a long time, I blamed myself. I kept searching for answers, wondering if I had done something wrong, if I had missed something, if I could have somehow prevented it. But over time, I had to come to grips with the reality that some things are simply part of nature’s design. Life has its own path, and while we can do everything possible to set life up for success, we cannot control every outcome.
And here’s the thing—despite his challenges, my son is absolutely perfect to us. He may not have hearing in one ear, but that has never stopped him from being an incredible, resilient, and bright soul. He is strong, he is whole, and he is exactly who he was meant to be. Sometimes, we have to look beyond what we perceive as limitations and see the beauty that exists within them. The same is true for animals—while we always strive for health and longevity, perfection isn’t a guarantee in life. But love, care, and appreciation for the uniqueness of each being? That is what truly matters.
While I will always be here to offer guidance and lifelong support when possible, I kindly ask that expectations remain realistic. No breeder—no matter how dedicated—can guarantee a kitten will never face illness, injury, or unforeseen health concerns. Genetics play a role, but so do environment, diet, and circumstances beyond anyone’s control.
I pour my heart into my cattery, and my greatest hope is that each kitten thrives in a loving home. If you ever need advice or have concerns, I am happy to help where I can. However, I ask that adopters approach this journey with a balanced understanding—responsible breeding carries an enormous weight, and while I do my very best, I cannot bear the burden of life’s unpredictabilities alone.
Thank you for trusting me as your breeder, and thank you for giving these special kittens a wonderful home.
Warmly,
Crystal
