We work hard to match each kitten to the right home by carefully observing their personalities and discussing your lifestyle, preferences, and needs before adoption. All kittens also go through daily socialization and exposure to different sights, sounds, and experiences to help them adapt confidently to new environments.
However, temperament can still evolve as your kitten matures, and adjustment to a new home takes time. It’s normal for a kitten to be shy or reserved at first, they are leaving everything they’ve ever known. With patience, gentle handling, and positive experiences, most kittens will blossom into their full personality.
Bringing a kitten into your family is a long term commitment (10–20 years), and we encourage you to allow at least a few weeks for adjustment before assessing their personality.
That said, we never want one of our kittens to be in a home where they aren’t wanted or well cared for. In cases of true incompatibility or life changes, we will always accept a kitten back into our care to ensure their safety and help place them in a new home. No refunds will be given after the kitten has left our care, but we will help with rehoming if needed.
We understand that life can change unexpectedly, and sometimes a family may no longer be able to care for a kitten. Our priority is always the well being of the kittens, and we want to ensure that every kitten ends up in a safe, loving, and stable home.
Bringing a kitten home is a big adjustment, for both the family and the kitten. Kittens bond quickly with their families, so moving them from one home to another can be extremely stressful and emotionally challenging for everyone involved. Because of this, we do not offer refunds once a kitten has left our care. Returning a kitten involves additional steps such as isolation to protect our cattery from potential illness, a full veterinary check up, and finding a new family. Older kittens are also more difficult to place, as most adopters prefer younger kittens.
Even though refunds are not available, we will always accept a kitten back if you are unable to keep them. We take full responsibility for rehoming the kitten and ensuring they go to a loving, suitable home. Any transportation costs associated with returning a kitten are the responsibility of the adopter.
This policy ensures that kittens are never placed in situations that could be unsafe or stressful, and it allows us to continue our mission of raising happy, healthy kittens while supporting families through the process of pet adoption.
Do you allow visitors to meet the kittens before adoption?
We take the health and safety of our kittens very seriously. For that reason, we do not allow in person visits until after kittens have received their first vaccination. Even then, visits are limited to families who have placed a deposit and are seriously committed to adoption.
This helps us protect the kittens from illnesses that can be carried on clothing, shoes, or hands, especially before their immune systems are mature. We’re happy to share photos, videos, and regular updates so you can watch your kitten grow from afar until it’s safe for you to meet in person.
Yes! Your kitten will be litter box trained before going home. However, it’s normal for occasional accidents to happen while they adjust to a new environment, different smells, and a new layout. With patience, consistency, and easy access to litter boxes, most kittens settle in very quickly. I also recommend having multiple litter boxes throughout the home whenever possible, as cats love convenience and options.
At what age can my kitten come home?
Kittens are ready to go home at 12–14 weeks old. This extra time with their mother and siblings helps them develop better social skills, bite inhibition, and confidence. It also allows us to complete their vet check, vaccinations, and early socialization.
While it can be tempting to take a kitten home earlier, we’ve found that those extra weeks make for a much smoother transition and a happier, more well adjusted companion.
Siberians are considered one of the most allergy-friendly cat breeds because many produce lower levels of the Fel d 1 protein, which is the primary allergen most people react to. However, no cat is truly 100% hypoallergenic, and every person’s allergies are different.
Over the years, many families with cat allergies have successfully adopted from Lil’ Star Siberians with little to no reactions, but I can never guarantee an allergy-free experience.
For families wanting to test allergies beforehand, I offer:
• Fur samples for a $20 fee
• In-home allergy testing visits for a $60 fee
The $60 in-home visit fee can also be applied toward your deposit if you decide to join the waitlist.
I also believe that factors like diet, environment, and overall health may play a role in allergen levels, which is one reason I prioritize high-quality nutrition and a clean, low-stress environment for my cats and kittens.
