Our church resulted from discussion and agreement in the late 1940s of how Free Churches would share their Christian mission in and around Leamington Spa. The Congregational Church was allocated the Lillington area and the new Lillington Free Church had its first service on 6th January 1952. In October 1972, following the joining of the English Presbyterian and the Congregational Churches, Lillington Free Church became part of The United Reformed Church ("URC"). In 2011, we formed half of a pastorate with Radford Road Church Local Ecumenical Partnership ("LEP"). In 2024, the two churches were joined by Brinklow URC and Rugby URC to form the South Warwickshire URC Pastorate, led by Revd Nick Stanyon. The pastorate belongs to the West Midland Synod of the URC.
Lillington Free Church initially used the local Women's Institute Room (Lime Avenue) until new premises were formally opened in January 1953. Following growing numbers and capacity challenges, a new church was developed and opened in 1966 [photo below] and was in situ until the development of the current church building, which opened in March 2019 [photo below].
