Peacock

Whether draped behind its body or in full fan,

the peacock’s impressive plumage is a vision to behold.

Its iridescent feathers are covered in crystal-like structures that reflect the wavelengths of light.

While not often seen in flight, these birds can certainly fly.

It should be noted that only males are considered peacocks.

They shed their train of feathers every year after mating.

Females are peahens, and collectively a family is called a peafowl or a bevy.

In all its beauty, the peacock encourages us to show our true colors.

Be confident in who you are and in what you do.

When you live with integrity and honor you too will be magnificent.  (S. Finelli)
