Ostrich

The ostrich is the largest of all birds.

Unlike most feathered creatures, it cannot fly.

Instead, its strong, long legs make it the fastest runner.

It can sprint to a speed of 43 miles per hour.

One powerful kick from an ostrich can be lethal to a predator.

An ostrich is known to dig a hole in the ground to use as a nest for its eggs.

This is what led to the myth that the ostrich buries its head in the sand.

Meaningful to this image is the ostrich’s message to avoid denial.

Don’t refuse to acknowledge what is going on in your life just because it may be upsetting to you.

It is understandable to want to focus on the brighter side of situations,

and you should, but stay grounded in reality. (S. Finelli)
