My first venture into creative writing started at an early age, at around 10 years old, when I entered a short story writing competition at my school, Sekolah Indonesia Cairo. Then, like many kids around that age in my generation, I began writing in a private journal that soon evolved into writing a fanfiction when our family moved back to Indonesia (I'm a huge Inuyasha fan!). I also wrote way too many unfinished teenage stories during junior and senior high school years.
I learned how to write short stories more seriously in prose writing classes at Politeknik Negeri Jakarta and subsequently my writing really took off at Universitas Indonesia. Short stories have always been my favorite form of writing, although in 2024 I started learning how to write poetry. I perform somewhat regularly at Perth Slam. I am still a learner in crafting better works and I firmly believe that learning is a never-ending process.
Since 2012, I have published around a dozen of short stories in various online and printed Indonesian media (detik.com, Femina, etc.), a creative non-fiction work, a young adult novel, and poems.
My most recent works deal with motherhood, parental guilt, and memory.
