Replace and install
First, back up everything.
If you haven't already, make sure everything is backed up.

What is Replace & Install?
Replace & Install literally replaces the current OS and installs the build of lidslate you're installing from. Everything will be erased from the internal drive, and whatever system is installed (like macOS, chromeOS, or Windows) will be completely overwritten and replaced with lidslate.
This project does not (and won't) support dual booting with Windows 10 or 11 on the same disk. Instead, its suggested to:
Start and run lidslateOS from a separate startup disk (USB flash/external drive, SD card, etc) if you're not sure you want to fully convert your machine.
Install or buy a second disk (in a mobile or desktop workstation), and leave it empty for lidslateOS. The first disk can be left in for leaving running systems like Fedora or Windows alone.
Doing Replace & Install
When you're ready, open Installer from Tools. If you're not sure where this is, you can use the letter filter to find 'i'. Installer should be listed. Then follow the steps below.
It's worth noting this guide is for new users; if you've installed operating environments before, these will most likely be easy to do by following the Installer directions itself.
Verify file (not yet available yet in 0 'Argon')!
For future builds (not the current one/Argon!) A default key should've been shown to you on the drive when you first booted it; compare this with the one with the one that's shown to you now. They should be the same.
1: Change system key
Each build of lidslateOS has an insecure, built-in temporary key. You might've noticed this when you first started using it; when prompted to elevate, everything indicated it needed this key. This is fine when first starting it, but for general use, its not safe because its a public key. If you haven't changed it already (the elevation box will ask you about this), Installer will ask you this first.
First, set a legacy password. This is needed in case you lock yourself out of the system and allows password-less entry. If you're new to passwords, a random one is also generated for you, which you can accept, but beware it won't be saved once its applied.
Then, set your own key. You will need a separate drive or card for this. Installer will generate a random sequence of numbers, which will be used as a PIN. Every time you want
2: Check your settings
Each build of lidslateOS has default settings for the profile name, time, language, keyboard, and other options. And... while these can't be changed yet in this build, it'll be possible to in future versions if the project gets to continue with any support.
3: Set install type
By default, this will be Replace & Install, which will overwrite anything on disk, and install lidslateOS. It will also create a second
