My creative work has always lived in different corners of the internet: poems on one site, videos on another, social impact projects in shared folders, coding assignments tucked away in class portals. It worked, but it was scattered. I began to wonder: what would it look like to bring all of these identities into one place? That question sparked what became my biggest solo project to date: building libbystassi.com, my personal website.
I had never coded a full website before and did not realize that required such precise structure—HTML for content, CSS for styling, JavaScript for interactivity. I had to teach myself how these building blocks worked together from scratch. I chose Sublime Text as my editor and started diving deep.
Eventually, I had a prototype. Suddenly, everything I loved—storytelling, coding, service, history, illustration, design, theology, feminism, even fashion—had a home. Not only that, but the process of weaving it all together made me appreciate each part more deeply.
I organized the site around the themes and projects that have shaped me most. Among them: "Coding This Website,” "Personal Published Books," "Published Books for Less Fortunate Children," "Children’s Hospital and Raintree Involvement," "Award-Winning Poetry," "Book Illustration," "Personal Poetry," "Connection with My Rosie the Riveter," "Interest in World War II," "Spread the Love Project," "Final Project for Tulane Creative Coding for the Web," "The Women Before Us Coding Website Project," "Games Coded in JavaScript," "Women in STEM Presentation for Elementary Girls," "Films Admiring Creation," "Entertainment Films," "Creative Expression Films," "Video Diaries," "Creative Social Media Accounts," "Google Sites Projects," "Heart of Passion," "Spanish Club," "Bible Study Presentations," "Network Literary Magazine Project," "Retreat Team," "Mariposa Foundation," and "Camp Point Clear."
Rather than overwhelm visitors with everything at once, I divided content into clean, intentional pages. Each page contains not just artifacts but thoughtful captions and interactive elements that invite viewers into my world.
What began as a technical challenge turned into one of the most creative experiences I’ve had. And while the site will keep evolving, it already stands as a snapshot of what matters to me right now.
