Academic Support Information

Parents/Guardians are an Important Resource

Even though your student may not always recognize how much you are doing for them, it is important to maintain open and calm communication with your student about their progress at school. For example, what class do they feel they are most successful in and why? What areas are the most difficult and how do they think you or someone else could support them? Does your student know the resources that Liberty HS has available? Ask what the best part of their day was and probe for detailed answers - your student might always say "lunch" or "dismissal", but it will spark conversation!

Teachers are an Excellent Resource

Many of our teachers are available before or after school by appointment, and during FLEX time for extra help. Check each teacher’s Canvas for information about availability. For best results, please have your student contact their teacher ahead of time to make an appointment. Teachers also keep a wealth of information on their Canvas sites about each course!

Academic Tutoring with Bus Transportation

Tutoring is available for free at LHS after school with our teachers! Schedule of specific subjects, teachers, location, and days available will be posted on the main Liberty website by late September. Transportation is provided for students participating in tutoring after school Monday - Thursday. Students must get academic bus passes from their teacher to ride the bus.

Family Access

Family Access (Skyward) allows families to check their student’s final grades and graduation requirements.

The easiest way to check your student’s current grades is from your Canvas parent account.

King County Libraries

Free tutoring in person and online through their Study Zone program (www.kcls.org/studyzone) and KC Online Tutoring.
