It may be surprising for you to learn that my background is in the Humanities, not technology! In fact, I majored in English and Literature at a liberal arts college! This was far from a waste, despite what pearl-clutching op-eds may tell you! In fact, the creative impulse behind my history in the Humanities is what drew me to technology in the first place.
Out of academic curiosity (and a credit requirement), I took an introductory course on HTML and web design that inspired me to try for a web design certification after I graduated. One thing lead to another, and today I am slowly but surely working to attain a master's degree in IT.
Every day, I apply my love of writing and my experience in research to both my academic work for my MSIT and in a professional capacity. I have work history in research and training development, skills which I use to introduce onboarding staff at my current job to the web applications, processes, and record systems for daily procedures.
