I’m Aimee, and I joined Kairos almost as soon as I joined LGCC because I love working with teenagers, and I knew some pretty cool people in Ohana who are Kairos counselors. I’ve been working with middle school girls for over a year now, and what has struck me the most is how eager and curious they are. They've asked some big questions (I remember we had a good discussion about what the trinity was one week), and it's been such a blessing to see kids so young engage so earnestly in their faith. It's also been really encouraging to see them pray for one another and watch out for each other. The hardest part of being a Kairos counselor for me has been committing Friday nights to coming. After a long week, I'm sure most people would rather relax at home or hang out with their friends. It definitely helps that I get to serve with a really great group of counselors, and it's been inspiring to meet people who are so dedicated to serving.

Overall, I am very glad I decided to join Kairos, and I would highly recommend it! It's a cool opportunity to see how God is working in our church and to invest in the next generation. Prayers would definitely be appreciated for the kids to form their own personal relationship with God/ A lot of the students I work with are learning what it means to have a personal relationship with God, rather than just going to church when their parents tell them to, and seeking their own identities. It has been really rewarding to get to join with them on their journeys.
