Since being at the University of Glasgow, I have been involved in many different teaching activities, outlined below. I am also happy to provide (anonymous) feedback on my teaching from my students and from course surveys.
In the academic year 2024-25, I held a Graduate Teaching Assistant Position at the University of Glasgow, which included lecturing duties for the following courses.
2E: Mechanics - co-ordinates, vector calculus, kinematics, dynamics, Lagrangian mechanics.
1C: Calculus - differentiation, integration, optimisation problems, aimed at non-mathematicians taking math-adjacent courses.
I have also previously covered lectures for courses including 4H Mathematical Physics, 3H Algebra, and 1G: Algebra & Geometry
I have tutored for a wide variety of courses at Glasgow, including 1C: Calculus, 1G: Algebra & Geometry, 1: Foundations, 2AB: Linear Algebra & Multivariable Calculus, 2E: Mechanics, 2F: Group Theory, 3H: Algebra, 3H: Mechanics, and 4H: Mathematical Physics.
I have been a lead tutor for 1C, 1, 2E and 3H, which involved preparing and organising tutorials as well as delivering them.
I am also a tutor with the Student Learning Development (SLD) team, giving mathematical support to students outside of the Maths & Stats department.
As part of my GTA position for 2024-25, I was involved in the course 3W: Writing & Presenting Maths. For this, I supervised approximately 30 students on short 10 page projects surrounding Elliptic Curves, as well as supporting their learning of Mathematica and LateX.
I have also informally supervised several third and fourth year students with extra reading, supplementing their course work.
Jon Nimmo Prize (2022), Awarded to a graduate tutor within the School of Maths & Stats at Glasgow for excellence in teaching.
Student Teaching Awards (2024), Finalist (top 3) for the "Outstanding Contribution to Teaching award" across all departments in the University of Glasgow, nominated by my students.
