About Me
I'm a 3rd year PhD student at the University of Glasgow under the supervision of Dr. Dinakar Muthiah, working in representation theory and mathematical physics.
Feel free to email me at lewis [.] dean [@] glasgow [.] ac [.] uk.
Research Interests
I'm currently interested in double affine geometry and generalised affine Kac-Moody algebras, with a focus on the relation to this with Hecke algebras and their representations. I have also been looking at different presentations of the (extended) affine Hecke algebra and how this links with quantum cohomology.
Teaching
This last year at Glasgow, I have been a tutor for the following courses.
3H: Algebra.
2E: Mechanics.
2AB: Multivariable Calculus & Linear Algebra.
1: Foundations.
Previously, I have also given lectures and tutorials for courses including 4H Mathematical Physics, 3H Mechanics, 2F Group Theory, and 1C Intro to Calculus.
I am also a tutor with the Student Learning Development (SLD) team, giving mathematical support to students outside of the Maths & Stats department.
Other Activities
I previously organised the Glasgow PG Seminar with Marina P B Godhino. I have also assisted with the Double Affine Hecke Algebra (DAHA) working group within the mathematics department at Glasgow.
