10th-12th December 2019
1st Day
The first mobility of the Erasmus plus project “L.E.T.’S.! Loving Europe Through Sites” started on 10th December until 12th December at our school which is the project’s coordinator school. Everyone participated with a big enthousiasm to this multicultural event whose common spoken language was English.
All the activities have been developed according to the planning and the protocol previewed by the project.
The foreign partners have been welcomed by our school orchestra which played some songs from its repertoire following to the greetings given by Ms. Gambino on behalf of the Head Teacher who wasn’t there because of an accident.
Then all the group moved to the main branch of our school where some pupils of the Infant School sang a song by using the LIS language and some students of the Primary School showed the artworks made for their guests.

Meeting of coordinators
After a musical performance with typical Sicilian instruments such as “ciaramedda” and “marranzano” and the exhibition of a typical Sicilian crib and the “cona”, taken from the traditional Sicilian Christmas customs, the teachers had their first technical meeting while the foreign students took part into some Art and Science labs in our classes.
Our students were very happy to share this experience with them with a high spirit of integration and positive attitude and above all with the will of speaking a fluent English and meeting new friends.
Another meaningful event was the creation of the project’s mascot through the parts of the body made by every partner according to some characteristic features of his country and assembled by the teacher Patrizia Maffei.
Typical lunch
Some mothers of our students arranged and made a typical Sicilian meal with lots of good specialties paying attention to our vegetarian and celiac guests.
Logo Contest
All the guest students and some of ours have been involved in a logo contest taking inspiration from the mascot. The winner logo will be reproduced and used in all the communication patterns of the project.
THE WINNING DRAWING
The vote was made through a survey-link by all the students in the school and the winner was the logo drawed by our student Vittoria of class 1D with a percentage of 60% of votes.
In the afternoon there was a guided tour to some of the selected sites of the project, located in the city centre and introduced by our students to their mates.
