RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests include e.g.,:

• the development of biogeochemical models (including sea ice, pelagic, and benthic habitats) at several temporal  (from seasonal to decadal) and spatial (from local to global) scales

• studies of phenology and phenological changes in polar marine environments

• studies of the impacts of  climatic and non-climatic stressors on polar marine ecosystems

• closing of the global carbon cycle

• climate change scenarios and projections

• the role of sea ice biota and biogeochemistry in the Earth system

• adaptations and mitigations studies

• development of models suitable for ecosystem management and as tools for decision-makers

• science communication, journalism and popularisation.
