How do I get the Personal Lesson Bank (PLB)?

That's an easy one! Head over to the PLB Pay and Get Started page. Pay $30 and I'll send it to you!

How long does it take to get the PLB and/or the CLB?

PLB: If you pay with Square, as soon as you pay you will get a confirmation email with your PLB! SO INSTANTLY! If you use other payment methods you'll get it within 24 hrs.

CLB: I send the CLB emails once a day so please allow 24 hrs to receive your link to the CLB.

*If you don't see the email within that time period--CHECK your JUNK & SPAM accounts! If you can't find it (sometimes they go to the very depths of spam) email me and I'll send it again or via a different email to make sure we get it to you.

Where do I pay for the PLB?

See the PLB Pay & Get Started page! All available payment methods are listed as well as the after payment "Paid?" Google Form, so I can check for payment and send you that sweet, sweet teaching resource.

How do I get the CLB?

See the Collaborative Lesson Bank page! All your answers are there.

Where is the CLB Access Workshop and Quiz?

You can watch the workshop on the Video page and then take the quiz on the CLB Quiz page!

Do I have to watch the workshop for the PLB?

Nope!

Do I have to take the quiz for the PLB?

Nope!

Do I have to pay to be apart of the CLB?

Nope!

Can I only use the CLB?

Yes. You can see, use, and add to all the CLB resources for free! You just won't have automatically generating resources and the saved planner for your class schedule without getting the PLB.

The lesson is wrong! What do I do?!

If you're using the PLB or CLB and the lesson is wrong you do not need to let me know. VIPKID is constantly changing lessons, small updates or complete lesson changes. When you come across these please feel free to update it! Only CLB members will have access to do that so PLB member, join us! CLB member, check to make sure you have the same lesson, make sure it didn't get entered one cell off or something and then go ahead and update it. I usually make these lessons before class or if you're a veteran I tell my student I'm taking notes on the lesson today and quietly update it as I go along in the lesson. Then I copy it from my PLB, Find in Sheet in the CLB and paste it into the CLB. *Make sure it copies correctly and you're done! You are now a contributor!!!

Did VIPKID make this or are you a VIPKID employee?

No and no. I am a teacher, MCM, Fast Pass coach in UT and Online Cert Center Coach but the Lesson Bank is my labor of love for teachers. It started with the desire to have all this information while I'm teaching but when they didn't have it I started building it. I went through lots of prototypes and versions and spent 1-6 hrs a day for about a year and a half adding lessons. Then others really wanted in on it!

How long did this take you!?

A year and a half of hours and hours a day about a half a year maintaining and updating. It took a long time but I really believe that if teachers have good resources teaching is easier AND the quality of teachers goes up. High quality means kids are learning, they're loving it and parents are happy. All that is good news for everyone.

How did this all start?

When I started I wanted to see what was coming up in the slides, remember my student's favorites and rapport details, I wanted faster feedback because it took so long. I wanted a system that was mobile so I had it anywhere I went. When I started there were 3,000 teachers prepping, teaching and writing feedback everyday and I thought, WHY ARE WE ALL RE-CREATING THE WHEEL individually everyday? That's insane! So I made a system with everything I thought I or other teachers might want and made it collaborative so any teacher with a good idea could share it. It took a lot of hours before teachers started joining in but then slowly but surely others started joining. We grew wildly, locked the CLB to read only, grew more, decided to open it back up with new updates but requiring all users to take a quiz, and now here we are. Since we launched the new 2.0 in February we already have 1,000+ verified users on the CLB!
