Real Impact Center

As an intern during my final year at Wesleyan College, I took on the role of Website Administrator for a local non-profit organization: Real Impact Center, Inc. The focus of the organization is to provide STEAM-related programs to young girls from the 3rd- to 8th-grade levels.

After meeting with the founder to discuss the website, I quickly realized this internship would be more than simply doing site maintenance - it would require an entire development cycle to fulfill the needs of the organization while providing a dynamic and data-driven website.

Project Phase One (to be completed by May 2022)

• Secure web hosting via GoDaddy (connection via a dashboard from my account to the client's account)

• Managed WordPress install

  • To include SSL and expanded data resources

• Development of basic pages

  • Images, content, organization

  • Separate pages for each program (4)

• Preparation for dynamic news and content (via blog)

• Enable basic enrollment of program participants with Eventbrite overlay (plugin)

Project Phase Two (ongoing)

• Gravity Forms creation for data collection of program participants

  • To include data mapping and relationships between data sets

• Gravity Views creation for custom data display and reporting

The formal intern period ended in December of 2021, but I continue to work and develop the website, building a relationship with the Real Impact Center's team as a volunteer.
