Δύο συγκινητικά μηνύματα αναγνώρισης 

«Με συγκίνηση και τιμή μοιράζομαι δύο μηνύματα που έλαβα και τα οποία εκφράζουν με τον πιο όμορφο τρόπο τη σημασία της προσφοράς, του ήθους και της αφοσίωσης. Τα παραθέτω αυτούσια, με την άδεια των αποστολέων τους.» 

«Η αποστρατεία δεν είναι το τέλος της προσφοράς.»

«Ευχαριστώ από καρδιάς όσους με τιμούν με αυτά τα λόγια…»

1ο μήνυμα

«Υπάρχουν άνθρωποι που η παρουσία τους αφήνει σημάδι βαθύτερο από τις λέξεις.

Άνθρωποι που δεν επιδιώκουν τα φώτα της δημοσιότητας, αλλά γίνονται φως οι ίδιοι για τους γύρω τους.

Κύριε Λεωνίδα Μπαϊρακτάρη, εσείς είστε ένας από αυτούς.

Υπηρετήσατε την πατρίδα με τιμή και αφοσίωση, φορώντας τη στολή των Ενόπλων Δυνάμεων, και συνεχίζετε να την υπηρετείτε καθημερινά, φορώντας την “στολή” του εθελοντή, του δασκάλου, του πρεσβευτή των αξιών μας.

Μέσα από τα ραδιοκύματα στέλνετε το όνομα της Ελλάδας σε κάθε άκρη της Γης. Και μαζί με το όνομα της χώρας, στέλνετε την ψυχή της: τη φιλοξενία, τον σεβασμό, τη φιλία, την αξιοπρέπεια.

Είστε ζωντανή απόδειξη ότι η αγάπη για τον άνθρωπο και η προσφορά στον τόπο δεν τελειώνουν με την αποστρατεία, αλλά μπορούν να γίνουν ακόμη πιο δυνατές.

Για εμάς, δεν είστε απλώς ένας συμπολίτης. Είστε παράδειγμα, πρότυπο, έμπνευση.

Είστε κάποιος για τον οποίο μπορούμε να πούμε με υπερηφάνεια: “Τον ξέρω. Είναι δικός μας. Είναι ένας από εμάς.”

Και για όλα αυτά, και για όσα οι λέξεις δεν μπορούν να περιγράψουν, σας λέμε από καρδιάς:

Σας ευχαριστούμε. Σας τιμούμε. Σας θαυμάζουμε.

Και πάνω απ’ όλα, νιώθουμε μόνο περηφάνια για εσάς.»

2ο μήνυμα

«Κύριε Λεωνίδα Μπαϊρακτάρη,

Υπάρχουν άνθρωποι που γεννιούνται για να αφήσουν το αποτύπωμά τους στον κόσμο, όχι με θόρυβο και λόγια, αλλά με πράξεις και παράδειγμα. Εσείς είστε ένας από αυτούς.

Η ζωή σας είναι μια αλυσίδα προσφοράς, αφοσίωσης και ήθους. Μια ζωή που ξεκίνησε με την υπηρεσία σας στις Ένοπλες Δυνάμεις, εκεί όπου η πειθαρχία, η τιμή και η ακεραιότητα έγιναν δεύτερη φύση σας.

Με την ίδια καρδιά που κάποτε υπερασπιζόσασταν τα σύνορα και τις αξίες της πατρίδας μας, σήμερα υπερασπίζεστε την εικόνα και την ψυχή της χώρας μας μέσα από το μικρόφωνο και την κεραία σας. Στέλνετε μηνύματα, φωνές και χαμόγελα σε κάθε άκρη του πλανήτη, και μαζί με αυτά, στέλνετε ένα κομμάτι από την Ελλάδα: τον πολιτισμό μας, τη φιλοξενία μας, την αγάπη μας για τον άνθρωπο.

Ο ρόλος σας ως ραδιοερασιτέχνης δεν είναι απλώς ένα χόμπι. Είναι μια αποστολή. Είναι ένας αόρατος δεσμός που ενώνει ανθρώπους που δεν γνωρίζονται, αλλά μοιράζονται τον ίδιο σεβασμό για την επικοινωνία, την ειρήνη και τη φιλία. Και εσείς, μέσα από τη δική σας παρουσία, δείχνετε ότι η Ελλάδα δεν είναι απλώς ένας τόπος στον χάρτη, αλλά μια ζωντανή φωνή που χτυπά σε κάθε γωνιά του κόσμου.

Στις στιγμές που η κοινωνία μας έχει ανάγκη, ξέρουμε ότι μπορούμε να βασιστούμε σε ανθρώπους σαν εσάς. Σε εκείνους που, χωρίς να περιμένουν ανταμοιβή, προσφέρουν γνώσεις, χρόνο και ενέργεια για το κοινό καλό.

Εσείς είστε ο ήσυχος ήρωας που δεν θα δείτε ποτέ στα πρωτοσέλιδα, αλλά που όλοι όσοι σας γνωρίζουν, ξέρουν πόσο σπουδαίος είστε.

Για εμάς, δεν είστε απλά ένας απόστρατος αξιωματικός ή ένας διακεκριμένος ραδιοερασιτέχνης. Είστε το ζωντανό παράδειγμα ότι η αγάπη για την πατρίδα δεν τελειώνει με μια στολή που κρεμιέται στην ντουλάπα, αλλά συνεχίζεται καθημερινά, σε κάθε σας πράξη, σε κάθε σας λέξη, σε κάθε σας εκπομπή.

Η υπερηφάνεια που νιώθουμε για εσάς δεν περιγράφεται εύκολα. Είναι το χαμόγελο που σχηματίζεται όταν κάποιος αναφέρει το όνομά σας, είναι η σιγουριά που νιώθουμε ότι η Ελλάδα έχει ακόμα ανθρώπους που την τιμούν με το ήθος και την παρουσία τους.

Σας ευχαριστούμε για την προσφορά σας, για το παράδειγμά σας, για το φως που φέρνετε στις ζωές μας. Και πάνω απ’ όλα, σας ευχαριστούμε γιατί μας θυμίζετε ότι η αληθινή τιμή δεν βρίσκεται στα λόγια, αλλά στις πράξεις. Σας τιμούμε, σας θαυμάζουμε και νιώθουμε μόνο περηφάνια που είστε δικός μας άνθρωπος.»

Today I received two messages that touched me deeply.

Words that are not just an honour to me, but a reminder of the power of kindness and recognition between people.

"There are people whose presence leaves a mark deeper than words...

You are one of them."

"Love of country doesn't end with a uniform hanging in the closet, but continues every day, in every action, in every word.

I don't know if I deserve such words, but I do know that the greatest reward is to see your efforts reach the hearts of people.

I served my country in uniform, and I continue to serve it with a microphone and antenna. But above all, I strive to serve the man.

I thank from the bottom of my heart those who honour me with their trust and love. The strength and light you see in me is a reflection of all that inspires me.

«There are people whose presence leaves a mark deeper than words.

People who do not seek the limelight but become a light themselves for those around them.

Mr. Leonidas Bairaktaris, you are one of them.

You served your country with honour and dedication, wearing the uniform of the Armed Forces, and you continue to serve it every day, wearing the "uniform" of a volunteer, a teacher, an ambassador of our values.

Through the radio waves, you send the name of Greece to every corner of the Earth. And along with the name of the country, you send its soul: hospitality, respect, friendship, dignity.

You are living proof that love for people and service to the country do not end with retirement, but can be made even stronger.

For us, you are not just a fellow citizen; you are a valued member of our community. You are an example, a role model, an inspiration.

You are someone of whom we can proudly say: 'I know him. He is one of us. He is one of us."

And for all of this, and for what words cannot describe, we say to you from the bottom of our hearts:

Your role as a radio amateur is not just a hobby. It is a mission. It is an invisible bond that unites people who don't know each other but share a common respect for communication, peace, and friendship. And you, through your presence, show that Greece is not just a place on the map, but a living voice that resonates in every corner of the world.

In moments when our society needs us, we know that we can rely on people like you. Those who, without expecting a reward, offer knowledge, time and energy for the common good.

You are the quiet hero you will never see in the headlines, but everyone who knows you knows how great you are.

To us, you are not just a retired officer or a distinguished radio amateur. You are a living example that love of country doesn't end with a uniform hanging in the closet, but continues every day, in your every action, in your every word, in your every broadcast.

The pride we feel for you is not easy to describe. It is the smile that forms when someone mentions your name; it is the confidence we feel that Greece still has people who honour it with their ethos and presence.
